Like Nicole said, the talented and gifted actor Heath Ledger died aged 28 on 22nd January 2008. Some say overdose others say suicide.
I, personally, would like to take a moment to remember the actor as I feel shocked and devestated but now my thoughts go out to his family and his daughter.

When I first heard it I thought it was a joke, a stupid mean joke but nobody jokes like that I am still kind of stunned. I don't think he commited suicide, I firmly believe he didn't and I spent a couple of hours last night on the net just trying to find out what happened.
I love him, he was cute and funny and had amazing dimples and the parts he took where amazing, Hollywood is going to feel this loss for a long time to come.
My heart goes out to his family, his two year old daughter who is going to have to grow up without her daddy.

The rumours are that he o.d. on sleeping pills as he started taking them because he couldn't sleep while playing the Joker in the new Batman. It apparently disturbed him too much. Others say its suicide [by sleeping pills] from his inability to kick heroin addiction he picked up while filming Batman. But in the Bobbie-Rae household it has been up for discussion that it was an adverse reaction to his medication and because of it he suffered a heart attack. I cannot say what it was that ended his life but I pray that his family find answers and feel comfort in condolences made by his true fans. But like all things there is a horrible underbelly. This is article made by WBC who will be picketting Heath's funeral. This was the reply I made after reading the article.
Having read that I feel disgusted. Those people have no respect for life and death and the pain that it will cause. Like others have said Heath Ledger was playing a role, to push the boundaries against those who seek to disrepect others. That is heroism not condemnation.
To all WBC followers, leave his family to grieve. There are plenty of other people you can gain your pound of flesh from. Or go a head and prove to the world you serve a monsterous god.
I apologise if anyone was offended by this but I do not tolerate people using God as an excuse to condone acts of hatred, racism and/or violence.

I thoroughly agree. This was actually the first I'd heard of his death. Guess I haven't watched the news for long enough the past couple of days.
Poor bloke. And his poor family. I can't imagine what it must be like to grow up without your father. (I'm a bit of a Daddy's girl, in the sense that our scary brains function on more or less the same wavelength.) And it's absolutely sickening that people who claim to be religious are hurting his family in a time when the grief is still so raw. They don't follow God or the Bible. They follow a warped version they claim as religion. I'm not especially religious myself, but I do not believe religion should be used to hurt others. Like Rae... I'm intolerant of intolerance, racism, prejudice, sexism... People always seem to manage to use their God to hurt others. At least with the ancient Greeks or Celts or Romans you *knew* that there were gods who were petty and cruel. The Christian God is supposed to be kind and loving. Not used to justify hurting a grieving family because of a character an actor played!
Okay, rant over. Sorry, I get angry about things like this.
Lol, Catherine
